Barack's Benghazi Bungling Boobs

Kudos to John Hopkins pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson who
gave the keynote speech at the February 7th national prayer breakfast in
Washington D.C., with President Clueless in attendance.

The only other time I saw smoking coming out of the President's ears was at
the first debate against Mitt Romney who wiped the floor with him, looking like
the recipient of a scolding for screwing up. He is not used to being put down a few
pegs like a spoiled brat, because he is use to being enamored by over zealot
followers who over estimates his abilities, besides himself.

He put together an administration that can be called, "Barack's Benghazi
bungling boobs."

If the Constitution didn't specifically specify that a person has to be born on
American soil in order to become president; President Obama has proved that
anybody can be president...even a wetback. That should make the P.Cs. squirm.
He has shown you don't need experience to sit in the Oval Office.

With his ultra left liberals in power, his and their contempt for our Constitution
should caution us, we shouldn't put it past them to try to amend the specificity
of the rule to qualify for the office. He's been using his executive powers with gay
abandon, so don't be surprised if this happens.

If you do a search Dr. Benjamin Carson, you will see he Is an exceptional American.
Comparing these two black men side by side, there is no comparison. What could
have been a remarkable story about the first Black American to become president
is tarnished by this over ambitious community organizer, using his charisma and
the Chicago political machine, to hoodwink the public through their ignorance, to
snatch the most powerful position in the world and alter the face of America. The
America that was once admired, respected and envied by people throughout the
world and handed over to those who do not admire and respect the principles of
our beloved country.

Racism played a major part in his election and re-election. When 97% of Blacks
and over 70% of Hispanics and Asians voted  for him, including several respected
non white Republican members of the community, like former Sec. of state, Gen.
Colin Powell, forsake their ideals; if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's
racism.

Mean while minorities who stick by their conservative tenets, like Dr. Carson,
Mayor Mia Love, Dr. Thomas Sowell, former Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice,
Doreen Borelli and their like are vilified for not following the unwritten law of the
NAACP, Black Caucus and other minority radical groups.

As the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me!
I was not fooled!!!

Is Legalizing Marijuana Good for the U.S.?

The pro-marijuana lobby is ecstatic that 2 states, in the last election, legalized marijuana smoking. Should the rest of us be as “ecstatic” as the potheads who have supported this legalization?

There has been a big push on the part of some to totally ban tobacco smoking in all areas of our lives. Since I’ve stopped smoking cigarettes for many years, I can sympathize with the desire of not being exposed to tobacco smoke. But, have the “tobacco prohibitionists” gone too far and have been flirting with pushing an unconstitutional agenda? Even though I abhor the smell of tobacco, as long as it is not blown in my face or in close proximity in a closed area, the people who smoke have a perfect right to do physical damage to their own bodies. Reasonable restrictions are appropriate such as in restaurants, inside buildings, theaters, and in certain public places, but outright banning should not be part of the equation of trying to cut down on tobacco usage.

But, these same people who are militantly anti-tobacco, seem to be some of the same people who are pushing for passage of marijuana smoking. The key word is “smoking”. Most all of us agree that tobacco is bad for your health, especially for your lungs. In fact, tobacco smoking, if continued regularly, can cut 10 years off your life. Can’t these same people realize that marijuana smoking also is inhaled into the lungs and the damage is the same or worse than tobacco smoking? Besides the physical damage marijuana smoking does to the body, it dulls and alters your thinking, problem solving, and physical coordination. Even as bad as tobacco smoking is, it doesn’t have the extra problems that marijuana smoking causes. It is not just a benign habit as the “pro weed smokers” claim.

Yes, I know that people will get their marijuana highs whether legalized or not, but why should we encourage its use? It has also been shown that smoking marijuana is a “gateway” drug for more powerful mind altering drugs like heroin, crack, Ecstasy, and prescription drugs etc.

I also believe that people who are seriously ill and who use marijuana to ease their pain, should have access to marijuana under the auspices of a medical doctor. The problem is, like what has happened in California, the “medical marijuana” is now being abused by some users, doctors, and unscrupulous businessmen to skirt the law by getting the “weed” into the hands of non-sickly people for recreational use.

So people, be careful what you wish for - the unintended consequences of a “libertarian” policy of legalizing marijuana can and will be detrimental to society.

MORT’s meanderings

Applause, Applause!

It’s what we do to show approval in a public way. We show our approval by clapping our hands together. Depending upon the degree of approval we wish to express, this can range from a few polite claps to a crescendo of applause that begins to feed upon itself and can go on and on until – fuggetaboutit.

We clap when a speaker is introduced and starts to speak – and we clap when he says something with which we agree – and we clap most vigorously when he finishes his presentation and returns to his seat.

We often clap without a reason, when we don’t know what else to do. It’s sort of like a nervous habit to occupy our hands. When we get impatient in expectation as we wait for a performance to begin, we join others in cadence clapping. When a “Wheel of Fortune” contestant is deciding whether to ask for a vowel or a consonant, we clap. When she spins the wheel, we clap. Whether she wins or loses, we clap.

We clap for noise, we clap for silence and we clap for everything in between. We are a nation that lives to applaud something - - anything. It’s our way of letting it be known that ‘we are there’, wherever ‘there’ is. We want to be seen to ‘get it’. Some of us, hereafter known as, ‘Applause Leaders’, want it to be known that we understand the joke being uttered by a comic and began to clap in anticipation of the punch line. We are also prescient listeners who appreciate the special talents of a musical performer and can’t wait to applaud before anyone else in the audience does. I plead guilty to that one.

We have a need to be recognized; “Hey, look at me.” We want performers to know that we appreciate what they are doing to entertain us. And, that’s a good thing but, some folks are unable to stop there. If we were to analyze why we sometimes leap to our feet, whistle, make noise and applaud as loudly as we can - we might understand that while we do so in appreciation of an outstanding performance, we also do it because secretly, we really, really want to be recognized as part of the show.

I’m guessing this last reason very likely explains the annoying phenomenon witnessed recently, as Members of a Joint Session of the Congress assembled beneath the Capitol Dome to listen to the President deliver his Second Inaugural Address.

From the moment the Clerk entered the Chamber and shouted, “Mr. Speaker, Mr. Speaker – The President of the United States”, the entire room full of Senators, Representatives and their guests, were in a continuous state of applause. They clapped and clapped until their hands reddened and turned numb. The applause was only interrupted by brief periods of ‘articulate’ speech and calculated pauses from the President as he droned on and on, delivering his litany of Christmas Gifts to the People of the United States. As Big Mack Daddy-in-Chief, he presented a grab-bag full of dreamy gifts for ‘us chillen’. Quite a number of his ‘gifts’ were un-requested and unwanted by ‘us chillen’. We know what we want and we know what we need, and it isn’t Government ordained repairing and repainting of bridges to nowhere.

We need real jobs - a concept that is totally alien to this ‘president’. He simply doesn’t understand what a job is, how jobs are created, who creates them, what it means to get one, have one or keep one. It ain’t the Government and it ain’t Unions. It is my sincere belief that ‘barackHUSSEINobama’ is physiologically incapable of grasping that notion.

So much of what ‘Daddy’ promised us made no sense. So many of the pie-in-the-sky programs and projects he touted are totally unnecessary. And, very little of what he was blowing his horn about could be calculated to boost the economy – by any stretch.

But, he did accompany each ‘solution’ with a clearly-articulated explanation. Problem was - as is most often the case when Obama’s ‘esplains’ what he means - he was spouting gobbledygook. None, nada, zilch of what he ‘esplained’ could survive even the most cursory exposure to logical understanding. As usual when this ‘president’ attempts to explain his twisted reasoning, logic becomes the casualty. None of what he says makes sense. That is - if the commonly understood definition of ‘the word, ‘sense’ is applied.

None the less, bursts of applause erupted and the entire audience of ‘Jumping Jacks’ & ‘Jumping Jills’ popped up & down as each ‘public gift’ was read from the list by Actor-in-Chief ‘barackHUSSEINobama’. He promised everyone in America something. He told them what he thought they wanted to hear. And he told them he was working hard to provide them with fair and balanced lives – even if this meant leveling the playing field by taking from the rich and giving to the poor. The actor in ‘obama’ loves playing the role of, Robin Hood-in-Chief.

There were no specific price tags mentioned but we were given to understand that none of his gifts would cost one additional dime out of our pockets. All would be paid for by taxing others, especially the filthy rich 1%. And, it would be paid for with great gobs of money saved by pulling our troops out of unpleasant wars in the Middle East. And best of all, it would be paid for with the million$ and billion$ that will be saved when the spectacularly brilliant 2000+ page ObamaCare is fully implemented. Seems to me that there were some gaping holes in his explanations but hey, that’s just me. The audience exploded on cue with their wildly enthusiastic applause. What’s not to love? . .

Whether this President was uttering veiled racism or mouthing blatantly divisive blasts against Republicans, each remark was followed by applause. Whether he was spouting class warfare by pitting one group of us against another or promising to do end-runs around the Congress in order to provide gifts for ‘the hard-working middle class’ and the ‘hard-working unemployed’; each remark was followed by applause.

Whether he was attempting to justify his choices of second-rate nominees to fill several vacancies at the nation’s highest, most sensitive agencies - or just smirking his smarmy-best smirks, each pronouncement or smirk brought down the house. The applause was non-stop. How sincere was it? As they say on FOX, “We’ll applaud, you decide.”

In my judgment, some of this is the kind of nervous applause generated by a driving need on the part of ‘some people’, to be viewed as belonging to the influential Inner Circle. Or maybe, it was applause that was actually an involuntary response to what they perceived as meaningful points being preached from the Bully Pulpit.

Sadly for the state of our nation, it was all pure B.S.

In my mind’s ear, I imagined hearing a barely perceptible sigh of relief emanating from the walls of that Chamber when it was finally emptied of raucous chatter, with lights turned off and with a blissful silence having been returned - at long last.

As I’ve become so fond of quoting myself - “All’s well that ends!”

Applause, applause!

PERESTROIKA

Our country having endured for 237 years, is on the edge of disaster in the hands of an ideologue. Anyone opposed to his impractical manifesto is to be considered by him, an enemy of the state.

We are in this mess because he is able to sell his brand to an unsophisticated and at times, a very large portion of the electorate, ignorant of the role of government. He stokes their vote by unwarranted entitlements meant for the people truly in need.

Eliminating the backbone of our economy.... individual initiative, replacing it with collectivity will be the death sentence of our country as we know it.

President Barack Hussein Obama is trying to fashion a government, proved to be a failure by the defunct Eastern Bloc nations that were under socialist rule. If he doesn't understand this in English, maybe he will in socialistic lingo. It doesn't work, that is why the USSR and its satellites adopted Perestroika. (Def.: restructuring the political and economical system)

"Mr. President, I urge you do the same and reverse your Perestroika, because
it is leading our country into the same dismal condition the 'Cold War' countries were in and abandoned for a system more like ours, before you became president.

Why Do the Democrats Now Like 98% of the Bush Tax Cuts?

After all these years of denigrating and demonizing George W. Bush for getting his tax cuts instituted in 2001 and 2003, we now see that the Democrats agree that 98% of the Bush tax cuts were worthy of support. What changed their minds? What bunch of hypocrites.

You could say that 98% of the Bush tax cuts were good for the country as the Democrats voted overwhelmingly to make them permanent. Was it all political theater? Was their main goal to stick it to the upper 2% to satisfy their base of ultra-liberal lunatics? Of course it was!

The liberal loons showed their true colors - everything is about power and if the opposition has a good idea (like lowering taxes) or have made a good policy decision, they would move heaven and earth to not let them get credit as it might undermine their chances to maintain power. Remember when Bush proposed to let younger workers use part of their Social Security taxes to set up private accounts, using blue chip stocks and AAA bonds, to supplement their retirement savings and payout when they retire, as was proposed by Democrats Daniel Patrick Moynihan and John Breaux, the Democrats shot that down as being an attack on the soon to be bankrupt Social Security system? Most economists said that this partial privatization of Social Security would return 2 or 3 times the retirement benefits to future retirees than the present system would return. Bush even proposed that if the worker wanted to remain in the regular Social Security program, they could make that choice. It was a win-win proposal, but they couldn’t let Bush get credit for that innovative change, could they?

The attack on the successful people (the so-called rich) of our country by the Democrats was all symbolism over substance. The revenue that will be raised by punishing the rich (a/k/a the successful) will only result in about 1% of our yearly deficit. Even if you taxed the wealthy at 100% it still wouldn’t reach the yearly deficit that we run up each year. It is all smoke and mirrors and geared to pacify their ultra-liberal base of supporters who really hate the rich (a/k/a the successful) people who now pay 70% of all the income taxes paid to the government.

Why haven’t we come out of our financial doldrums since Obama took office? Would it have anything to do with his fiscal policies? Of course it would. His policies of putting a moratorium on us capturing our vast amounts of natural energy (oil, coal, and natural gas); his ill-timed Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) that has actually increased health care costs; his constant expansion of the federal workforce (federal employment has increased by over 200,000 since 2009); and his overreaching of trying to implement his green energy program and his wasteful loans to companies (crony capitalism) on the verge of bankruptcy and finally bankruptcy itself, have all contributed to our financial malaise.

So yes, the Democrats now think that Bush was right by lowering the tax rates, but they don’t want to give him credit. Class warfare is one of the things that Obama guru, David Axelrod, and Obama have used in the past and will continue to use in the future to try to advance their Marxist/Socialist ideology.

Will we finally come to our senses? Maybe when we reach the status of Greece or Spain, it’ll finally sink in that we have been sold “snake oil” instead of a dose of “Moving Forward” B.S. as was articulated by Obama.

MORT’s meanderings

“A stain on the soul of America”

This descriptive phrase, attributed to K.T. McFarland who served in the Reagan Administration and who is currently, a highly-respected national security expert – is a stunning commentary on the sad state in which we find our nation today.

Since the election of Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, this country that I love has had its economy decimated by this President’s unprecedented, relentless, flagrant spending spree.  In addition, businesses large and small have been assailed by his fiscal attacks.  America’s businesses have been targeted for new and extremely burdensome taxation.

Furthermore, the back bone of our free-enterprise system, the risk taking entrepreneurs, have been unfairly categorized as greedy and repressive of their employees.  Add to this that long-established business and social enterprises have had unsubstantiated charges of widespread racism leveled against them by this President.  He has made numerous speeches intentionally calculated to incite and exacerbate class warfare – the ‘rich’ against ‘hard-working middle-class Americans’.  This is blatant.  It is divisive.  And it is most assuredly, unworthy of the habitual repetition in pronouncements made by a President of the United States.

To my knowledge, there is no record of a more specious program of top-down policies propagated by our Federal Government than we are seeing implemented before our eyes – policies specifically designed to bring our economy to its knees.  Such animus on the part of a President and his Administration is unique; it has never before been witnessed or experienced by Americans.  The result intended, has been the creation of severe economic chaos that provides all the excuse needed by Obama in order to justify his next round of restrictive regulations.  More regulations being piled-on, leading inevitably toward a further tightening of control over the lives of our citizenry by the Federal Government.  That is the plan. That’s how it works. It’s called ‘tyranny’, Folks.

Many of our long-established  programs – programs that formerly employed thousands of people with well-paying jobs - jobs that held the promise of longevity of employment, have been summarily killed or put on a starvation diet that guaranteed their demise in the short term.

NASA’s space efforts for example, have been curtailed.  At least 7,000 space program jobs were lost – and another 7,000 jobs in the local area around Titusville, Florida that supported the space activity, were lost. This President suggested that NASA instead, work toward helping Muslims enhance their self-esteem.  That move was so cynical and so weird that it defies any attempt to interpret it by using accepted logic.  It did however, expose the mindset of Obama.  He is fanatically committed to his Socialist ideology.  That errant philosophy dictates that it is necessary to destroy our competitive, free-enterprise system before implementing the joys of Communist ‘wealth redistribution’.
How very swell of this touchy-feely President.

A deliberate and systematic shut-down of our energy industries – oil, coal, nuclear, natural gas, etc. that assures our further dependence on foreign sources for our energy needs, was a crippling move with terrible consequences for our nation.  It is inexplicable unless one believes that Obama harbors ulterior motives for our country and this is just part of his grand plan to implement our subordination to lesser nations.  Sounds terribly cynical and terribly nefarious but, can someone offer a more rational explanation?

Our military has been disrespected, ridiculed, and denigrated by this Commander-in-Chief who openly despises our men and women in the Armed Forces - while lavishing them with compliments and effusively lauding them – all with a straight face.  This is yet, another example of his egregious use of his tactic of choice – ‘Taquiyya’, the Arabic word for deception. Deception that is permissible and encouraged in the furtherance of Islam’s goal of world domination.  Someone care to offer proof to the contrary?

In the long line of American Presidents, no parallel can be found when the Chief Executive has worked in such an opaque manner, behind such a heavy curtain of secrecy.    None has so totally ignored the established protocol between the three branches of Federal Government.  None has acted so unilaterally, without concern for the relationship between the three branches, a relationship that is so specifically defined in the Constitution of the United States.  No president has been so openly hostile or has displayed such a callous, cavalier attitude when dealing with the Legislative and Judicial branches of our Government.  Supposedly, all three branches are ‘equal’.

At every opportunity during his first campaign for the Presidency, Barack Hussein Obama reiterated his promise to change the tone of cooperation between the two major political parties.  He repeatedly swore to bring about an environment of bi-partisanship between Democrats and Republicans in our nation’s capital.  How has that worked out for us?  In my opinion  –  ‘Not so much’.

It seems to me that this President has made it a favorite part of his daily routine, to freely castigate and point the finger of blame at Republicans in the Congress.  He has consistently charged them with being intransigent and unwilling to compromise.  ‘Compromise’ to Obama and apparently to all Democrats, means a total capitulation (caving-in) by duly-elected Republican representatives of their constituencies, to whatever cockamamie schemes the Dems are trying to impose on the American people.

All the preceding illustrates what is meant by:   ‘A Stain on the Soul of America’.

Is Black Sen. Tim Scott Black Enough for the NAACP?

Apparently not according to Ben Jealous, current President of the NAACP. Jealous has claimed that Sen. Tim Scott of So. Carolina is just a “token” appointment who knows nothing about civil rights. What a racist statement for someone who represents one of the oldest black organizations in the country to make against a fellow black citizen, who now just happens to have assumed the office of U.S. Senator?

Not only does Sen. Scott have an exemplary record in both business and government, he was appointed to fill the recently vacated seat of Sen. Jim DeMint, who resigned to take a leadership position at the prestigious Heritage Foundation, he was appointed by another minority,

Governor Nikki Haley, who is Asian Indian/American. But, I guess that doesn’t mean anything to Ben Jealous, who, by the way, is of a mixed racial background himself, and who many would say could pass as a white person with no problem at all. Maybe since Sen. Scott is a few shades darker than Ben Jealous, maybe the erstwhile NAACP president is really “jealous” (yes, pun is intended) of the darker-skinned Scott?

This whole sorry episode shows that the NAACP really doesn’t represent all blacks (or negroes) since they condemn all blacks who do not toe the liberal line or who do not stay on the liberal “plantation”. It seems the litmus test for any black person is whether they agree with the liberal philosophy, and if they don’t, they are relegated to the scrapheap of the black community elite.

This hypocrisy is practiced by the same people who condemn Republicans and Conservatives of using race as a political ploy, but it seems that they are the one’s who use race to justify their condemnation of their political opponents.

Look at how other blacks have been treated by the liberals and Democrats. During George Bush’s first term, a black Colin Powell was appointed Secretary of State, he was also called a token and a “house negro”. The praise was few and far between. Later on, after he left government and he supported Obama for president, he was suddenly embraced as a true visionary and a seasoned politician - why the change of attitude? It looks the change in attitude about him was because he came back to the Democrat “plantation” and all his former “sins” were forgotten. His successor, Condolezza Rice, a black academic from Stanford, was also vilified as being a pawn of the “white man” and some vile racial cartoons were drawn depicting her negatively. It was a disgraceful display of the “double standard”.

Here in Florida, outspoken black congressman, Allen West, was routinely denigrated by the Democrats, racially, as being an “uppity black”, an Uncle Tom, and an “Oreo cookie”. The wrath of the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP came upon Rep. West and with the help of their efforts, West narrowly lost his re-election.

So, when the NAACP puts down a fellow black like Sen. Tim Scott for no other reason than he is a Republican, Conservative, or Tea Party supporter, you know that their credibility of being a sincere spokesman for blacks is very much in question.
