Slow Death by a Thousand Cuts

Doesn't that headline seem to illustrate what is happening to us, the U.S.A., today as we slowly sink into the abyss of becoming a second rate country? How did we get into this unfortunate position, and how can we get out from under?

Think about all the things we once held dear in the past, but now question the efficacy of many of those “sacred cows”. Was what we once believed in not relevant anymore? Let's see what has happened in our society that has brought us to this point in time.

Who'd have thought that we would be questioning whether or not we'd be banned from displaying a Christmas tree, a manger or a Menorah in a public place.......

Who'd have thought that saying a non-denominational prayer in a public place would somehow be harmful to someone else or that having the slogan, “In God We Trust” on our currency would be considered something undemocratic.......

Who'd have thought that marriage between a man and a woman should be considered passe, and that a “marriage” between two people of the same sex would be considered as an equal alternative, and anyone who disagreed would be considered a bigot or an intolerant person.......

Who'd have thought that giving amnesty and extra privileges to people who have violated our immigration laws would be celebrated by some of our public officials and anyone who opposed this policy would be called racists.......

Who'd have thought that we'd have the government intrude in our lives by passing a health care insurance law, which represents 1/6 of our economy, when approximately 60% of the people were against its provisions, and in addition, were called insensitive to the plight of poor people...........

Who'd have thought that our government officials, from on high, would side with the enemies of our foremost ally in the Middle East, Israel, by constantly making demands which undermine the policies and the leaders of that harassed nation, while ignoring the threats by its Arab and Muslim neighbors who wish its permanent demise.......

Who'd have thought that our government (both elected officials and non-elected Czars) would mostly all come from the same radical philosophical and political backgrounds, and which, some might say, don't have the best interests of the United States as their primary goal........

Who'd have thought that our government officials would have instituted policies that undermined the cohesion of our military units by dropping the Clinton “Don't Ask Don't Tell” policy, and by using the insidious “political correctness” mantra in setting the “Rules of Engagement” for our brave fighting soldiers during a time of war.......

Who'd have thought that we would be fighting terrorists, but we couldn't call them terrorists out of fear we might hurt their feelings (they are radical Islamist terrorists – there I said it)........

Who'd have thought that we could borrow trillions of dollars to bring about prosperity and create jobs when that tactic was tried before and failed miserably (the Roosevelt Administration during the 1930's).

And finally, who'd have thought that we'd have a President who would flip-flop on many of his pronouncements that he promised the voters in order to get elected, and then blaming all his shortcomings on his predecessor........

and........

Who'd have thought that our constitution and our economic system could be going through a “Slow Death by a Thousand Cuts” and we just stood by and let it happen.

May God help us, and the United States of America. Lord knows, somebody has got to help us because we have met the enemy and it is us.

Congressman West (FL-22) blasts the House Members across the aisle

Congressman Allen West: Our voice of Common Sense in the House of Representatives

Recently-elected Congressman Allen West from Florida's district 22, has called out the shirkers among the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. For a freshman Congressman to be so assertive is extraordinary. However, this people's representative is an extraordinary man. And, he believes the 'time is now' for taking action to arrest the runaway spending and unconscionable taxation that has been the hallmark of this reckless President and his enabling administration. Furthermore, Congressman West is adamantly opposed to the irresponsible and possibly unConstitutional 'Obamacare' legislation that was jammed through the 111th Congress by the Democrat leadership (Reid and Pelosi) despite the expressed opposition by an overwhelming majority of the legitimate citizens of this nation.

In the military service, shirkers can endanger the success of a mission and put the lives of their fellow service men and women at increased risk. The reasons for shirking duty can range from a lack of commitment to blatant cowardice. Shirkers who consistently seek to withhold their best efforts and thereby avoid performing their duty to the fullest, are despised by all true patriots who wear the uniform - the latter being men and women who take seriously their oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

For members of the Legislative Branch to shirk their duty is in my assessment, tantamount to displaying cowardice on the battlefield. It is such unacceptable behavior that it is deserving of their being summarily ejected from office by the most expedient legal measures available.

It is incumbent upon each and every voting resident of District 22 and all others who reside within a reasonable driving distance of one of Congressman West's monthly Town Hall meetings held in both Palm Beach and Broward counties, to attend and let him hear from you first-hand, that he has the active support of his fellow citizens of Florida.

When you are at one of these Town Hall meetings and you see me with my camera, mention that you read this piece. I'll take your photo and e-mail it to you. Please have your full name, phone number and e-mail address legibly written on a 3x5 card to save me time. I can't guarantee to take your photo with the Congressman but, you never know.

HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED - FOR GOOD OR BAD?

I know that I'm from a different generation and have a different perspective on life than the younger generation of today, but give me a break, how can you justify the nonsense that passes off as the norm today?

Take for instance the "music" that was presented at the recent Grammy's Awards. So-called "musical talents" made sounds and gestures that made no sense except that it brought attention to the performers doing the nonsense. Unintelligible, guttural utterances by outrageously costumed performers made it seem that the person watching this monstrosity was at a circus instead of a music awards program. The musical group "Lady Antebellum" was one of the few musical acts that performed in a "normal way". Too bad more groups like that weren't recognized as award winners. "Lady GaGa", a clone of the washed up Madonna, lived up to her reputation of being outrageous. Shouldn't her 15 minutes of fame be over by now? My generation of music, Rock 'n Roll, was considered artistically banal and evil back in the '50's, but compared to what passes today as music, it was like listening to an aria at the opera. I think they should "wrap up" Rap Music and send it back to Sodom ans Gomorrah.

Another area where we have regressed as a people is in how we try to enhance our appearance. Years ago, only "drunken sailors" had tattoo's, but today the mothers, sisters, and daughters have tattoos here, there, and everywhere. I guess there is a shortage of mirrors to go around so that these walking graffiti models can see what they really look like. But hey, I'm just an old purist from a different age who isn't "cool". Can you imagine what these tattoo people will look like 30 to 40 years from now after everything starts to sag. It won't be a pretty sight.

On the same theme, how can some guys walk around with their pants hanging halfway down their butts? Ridiculous is a mild word to explain that fashion aberration. Also, take some of the women today who's major contribution to "beachwear fashion" is how strategically placed "band-aids" can be placed to prevent them from being arrested by the police for indecent exposure. It seems like everyday is Halloween, especially in the schools where practically anything goes except for someone wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Jesus on it. Now that's a cause for alarm. What a country!

My final thought on some of the changes that has taken place, is the advent and acceptance of "political correctness" in our daily lives. As kids we used to play "Cops and Robbers", "Cowboys and Indians", and not one of my boyhood friends turned to a life of crime as a career or murdered anyone as a result of playing these "vicious " games. "Zero Tolerance" for anything that might upset another person or group is carried to its ridiculous extreme when a student, for instance, has a plastic knife or nail clippers or an aspirin tablet on their person and they are suspended from school. Maybe they should award degrees in common sense before some should be let in to work in a school?

Lately, words like "crosshairs", "target", "attack the opposition" etc. have been added to the "no-no" list because of the supposed violent connotation they supposedly imply. I think some people have too much time on their hands in order to come up with these immature and supercilious conclusions.

No, my generation was not perfect, but we didn't insult the intelligence of the average person by doing some of the "normal" activities that many are doing today. We are "defining deviancy down" as a prescient person once opined. Change is not always for the better, in fact, it could well bring down the intellectual and social fabric of our society to where civility and tolerance will be a thing of the past.

Obama: Indian-Giver Emeritus

To quote a December 26, 2010 article in WorldNetDaily - "In recent remarks at the White House during a "tribal nations conference", Obama endorsed the "United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People," which includes a sweeping declaration that "indigenous peoples have a right to lands and resources they traditionally occupied or otherwise used" but that later were acquired by occupying forces.

Obama, always ready and willing to redistribute someone else's wealth, now polishes his reputation as a United Nations sicko-phant by expressing his willingness to give away someone else's property as well. He is apparently, quite willing to have selected portions of Manhattan ceded back to native Americans (formerly known as, Indians). Has there ever been a more staunch advocate of 'fairness in redistribution at someone else's expense', than Mr. Fairness himself, St. Obama? What a guy.

The UN, the world's bastion of fairness has of course, always been ready and willing to advocate the Confiscation and re-distribution of a member nation's wealth, especially if that member nation is the United States of America.

So, it surely follows that this august world body would readily extend its 'fairness' in keeping with its recent declaration, to assuring that the rights to lands and resources now occupied by Syria, Jordan, the Sinai Peninsula and the majority of the other 22 so-called Arab states - were ceded back to the original occupants of this land. To be specific, we're referring to that large area of land given to the Jewish people through a Covenant with the Lord, some 2000+ years ago. Surely, the UN would see to it as its first order of business in the interest of 'fairness', that every square inch of all that land is promptly returned to the sovereignty and control of the State of Israel.

And just as surely, we presume that Mr. Fairness himself, 'St.Obama-what-a-guy', would assert himself in his self-anointed role of global leadership, by immediately stepping out in front of the parade to see that Israel is provided with its inherent rights, as guaranteed by those principled proponents of fairness itself, the member nations of the United Nations.

And, while we're holding our breath waiting for all that to transpire - might we respectfully request that the legitimate 'rights' of the 'so-called Palestinians', be investigated and researched to assure that any lands they are entitled to after it has been factually proven they had historically occupied, settled and developed said lands, are returned to them, forth with?

Question: How long should we be prepared to hold our breath?

AM I MY BROTHER'S KEEPER?

Those words from the bible (from the story of Cain and Abel) came to symbolize people's unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of their fellows – their brothers in the extended sense of the term. The traditions of Judaism and Christianity is that people do have this responsibility.

The liberals have stretched that definition to include the government as the primary “keeper” not the individual. This, of course, takes a load off the shoulders of the individual and puts it squarely on the shoulders of everybody else, whether they want that responsibility or not.

It is honorable for people to go out of their way to come to the aid of a less fortunate person (a brother) to help that person get back on his/her feet, or to help solve the problem he/she is confronted with. It is the right thing to do. And most religions preach that as part of their dogma.

But, when you get the government involved, sometimes called the “nanny state”, you take away the need for the individual to do the right thing by shifting the responsibility to an “impersonal” entity called the government. When that occurs, you will see the government start to intrude in all aspects of our lives – sometimes good, but mostly bad. The “impersonal” government then becomes rife with favoritism and corruption because the bureaucrats, running the government agencies and programs, are dealing with other peoples money ( your tax money) and not their own, therefore, waste and inefficiency become the norm rather than the exception.

Why are most all the “nanny state” countries going broke? In our country Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Farm programs, Amtrak, Energy department, Post Office etc. (all government sponsored programs) are all fraught with waste, inefficiency and, in many cases, outright corruption? Are they really our “brother's keeper” or are they self-perpetuating government “piggy banks” for the well-connected politicians and bureaucrats?

Look what is happening in Europe, who have an advanced mentality of pursuing “cradle to the grave” policies, who now find themselves trying to prevent themselves from going bankrupt. It didn't happen overnight, but the “Piper” is now coming home to be paid and these countries are unable to pay him. Riots and civil unrest are now raising their ugly heads, in these socialist-oriented “nanny states”, because many of the entitlements that these countries “gave” to the people now have to be cut back. The old adage of “there is no such thing as a fee lunch” is coming back to bite them in the butt big time. That should be a warning and a wake-up call to us (the U.S.A.), but the “liberal demagogues” are sharpening their knives to eviscerate the challenge to the “nanny state” programs which were enacted with good intentions, but have proved to be way too costly to be maintained now and into the future. The “Piper” will be visiting us sooner rather than later unless we wake up before it is too late.

Yes, we have a moral obligation to be our “brother's keeper”, but without the heavy hand of the government. In the words of former President Ronald Reagan, “Government is not the answer to our problems, government is the problem”.

The Possible Fall of Egypt

I am so frustrated so exasperated at the political crap being tossed around, while bullets are flying, clubs are pounding people, blood is shed, resulting in gruesome death to many in the name of freedom and release from subjugated rule.

Our pretender in chief Barack Obama has not been a helpful advocate for peace, but has unqualifyingly helped arouse more discontent in the continuing saga of instability in Egypt by not demeaning the efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement and its adherents of religious sophistry most likely willing instigators of the upheaval.

His casual pretentiousness over the underlying seriousness and truth of the matter is bewildering.

President Obama has not, if at all, a conscience. He is a professional politician who had the audacity to stand at the podium this day 2/3/11 and proclaim himself a God fearing loving Christian when it has unequivocally been proven that he attended the church of his mentor and long time friend Jeremiah A Wright, Pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ for twenty years and listened to his inflammatory sermons preaching Black Liberation Technology

Would not a Pastor of true faith not speak of God warmly and lovingly, instead of God Damn America espousing hatred against white people and Jews. The inconsistency, and incompatibility of that observance is laughable He preached to his choir of which Barack Obama, wife Michelle, and two daughters were weekly participants.

Seems rather ironical that our President would not be affected by the unrelentlessness of those rabble rousing sermons, and be oblivious to their insidious inciteful intent to demoralize listeners.

Beats me. It certainly removes any validity to the sincerity of his unyielding campaign rhetorical untruthfulness. How can Barack Obama be allowed to turn this nation upside down, inside out with his manufactured bursts of passion, and newly found religiosity, yet be believable even when looking through the clouded lens of ideological useful idiots.

If we are judged by the company we keep, look no further than the Farrakhan's, William Ayers's, George Soros's, Marxists advisors known as czars, tyrannical union leaders from his community organizing days, and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who was a strong advocate of never letting a crisis go to waste to inflame a situation.

Bringing the corrupt evil Chicago Political Machine to Washington DC to administer justice and preserve Constitutional governance, is not what we had hoped for nor bargained for. Big big mistake. This unfortunately is the fly in the ointment that can, or perhaps will lead to a recurring replay of the Egyptian Crisis as we decry our state of economic insolvency and high rate of joblessness.

This President has failed the citizens of this great nation by not living up to our Constitutions ideals and principles which is endangering not only our Democracy’s freedom, but threatens our safety and security with his inexperience in foreign affairs and unqualifiable administrative ability. Class warfare and racial distinction as the credo of this administration will only continue to activate discontent

It makes one wonder during this dilemma what lies ahead for our survival and that of our ally Israel, or even other neighboring Arab Nations. Is there a stalwart patriotic warrior standing in the wings to challenge the doubtfulness of our existence, and would impeachment possibly be considered as a constitutional tool due to serious error in judgment, misdemeanor, or crime???

President Clinton was impeached because of lying in a court of law about an extra marital affair in the Oval Office, why would the current perilous State of our Union, if you remove the blindfold and think about it, be any less notable a reason than the lying heart of Barack Obamas thirst for political advantage and power.

We cannot continue to live dangerously. Two years waiting for restoration of our power and glory in the election of 2012 is a long long time.

Never letting a crisis go to waste indubitably can cause irreparable harm to our glorious Republic. Lets hope for the best, but it certainly should be food for thought.

Obama: Useful Idiot-in-Chief

In 2003, Mona Charen wrote a ground-breaking book she titled, “Useful Idiots”. Lenin is widely credited as the first to use the term “useful idiots” in describing liberals and other weak-minded souls who could be relied upon to fall under the spell of one or another of the “ism’s”- (i.e; Socialism, Communism, Fascism and now, Radical-Islam-ism – as in, Muslim Brotherhood-ism).

When we Americans elect someone to serve as the chief executive of the United States of America, that person is referred to as, The President and Commander-in-Chief. The oath of office taken by the ‘people’s choice’ has traditionally been spoken aloud, with one hand on the Bible and the other hand raised in token of the sworn commitment to, “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America”.

While the words were spoken aloud by the current President a little more than two years ago, it has now become tragically apparent that when he uttered those most sacred words, he had no intention of honoring his commitment. His initial pronouncement, that of taking the oath of office, was also his initial act of ‘taquiyya’ as President. ‘Taquiyya’ is defined as follows: It is a form of deception particular to Islam. It allows Muslims to deceive in order to protect themselves or Islam. Taquiyya is generally allowable if it is done for the purpose of masking a Muslim’s identity as such. On very the day of his inauguration, we witnessed the premier act in Obama’s Grand Plan of Deception.

When the majority of voters cast their ballots for Barack Hussein Obama - I believe they did so, blindly. They took him on faith that when he promised to ‘fundamentally change the government’, he would bring about a series of innovative changes that would inure to the benefit of all the citizens of our nation. While he spoke in broad terms, he promised total transparency, an open-book manner of doing the nation’s business, a lobbyist-free and corruption-free administration - and a lengthy litany of other desirable characteristics that are universally expected of our three branches of the Federal Government but particularly so, in the case of the President and the Executive Branch.

How disappointing then, to learn that practically every word uttered by Obama the candidate, was being refuted by his every action as Obama the President and Commander-in-Chief. His first action was to board Air Force One, fly to Egypt and apologize to the Middle East for America’s supposed transgressions against all and sundry. And more curiously, to attest his love and support for the Muslim faith. What was that all about?

Fast forward - skipping over his appointment of far-left Socialist Czars answerable only to him to do his bidding; his heavy-handed jamming through of bail-outs, corporate take-overs, Obama-care and other grossly unpopular legislation; his use of Executive Orders to obtain his objectives while circumventing the Congress of the United States; his tyrannical Attorney General’s unbelievably biased and unprecedented unilateral decisions that flaunt all established legal guidelines for the DOJ – to mention a few . . . . and now, his increasingly frequent mention of the Muslim Brotherhood in his misguided meddling into the conflagration and chaos currently engulfing Egypt and the Middle East.

What is going on in the mind of this Useful Idiot-in-Chief? Based upon his every action and despite all his words to the contrary, we can expect that whatever he is planning, is calculated to work to the detriment of all we hold dear as Americans.

Well – is anyone going to stand up and speak out? Anyone?

Al Gore Strikes Again

Al Gore has announced that record cold weather and snowfall is caused – believe it or not – by global warming! Last year he was claiming that we would never have snow again, that winters would be warmer than ever. The trouble is that once again the global warming alarmists are taking inconsistent positions in order to advance their cap and trade agenda.

Today I listened to Joe Bastardi, Chief Long Range Forecaster and meteorologist from Accuweather. What he had to say was educational.

According to Bastardi, “This winter is on track to become the coldest for the nation as a whole since the 1980s or possibly even the late 1910s” What’s more, Bastardi predicted three or four out of the next five winters could be just as cold, if not colder. CLICK HERE Bastardi thinks that not only will the next few winters be colder than normal for much of the U.S., but that the long-term climate will turn colder over the next 20 to 30 years.
So who do you believe? A has been politician who has an economic interest in pushing global warming to get enacted cap and trade legislation or a meteorologist who has no economic interest either way?
